Bella is now president of the Pi Lamda Greek House. After waving goodbye to the departing seniors she wastes no time drumming up new membership. Bella’s first call is to Dustin’s younger brother, Beau.
Bella: Hi, Beau… Yeah, it’s great… Why don’t you come round and see for yourself? I’m not doing much at the moment… OK, see you in ten. Bye.

Beau arrives at the Greek House and Bella rushes out to greet him.
Bella: Hi Beau. How’s things?
Beau: Good thanks. Wow, so this is where my brother hung out for most of his senior year.
Bella: It’s cool isn’t it. We have a party room and separate study area. Upstairs, we have two private rooms and one dorm.
Beau: This sure beats living in dorms.
Bella: Well… You could live here too. Why don’t you pledge this year?
Beau: Who me?
Bella turns on the charm and reaches out to touch Beau’s forearm with her fingertips.
Bella: Of course you. We have to uphold the Pleasantview tradition. It’s just you and me now!
At Bella’s touch a thrill runs through Beau’s body. He can see why his brother is smitten with this girl. When she looks at you with those sultry eyes it’s hard to say no.
Beau: OK, I’ll do it!
Beau isn’t the only one to feel something when their skin touched. Bella is drawn towards Beau. He reminds her of Dustin yet he is also different. He has the same strong features and fair hair but he’s more light-hearted than his big brother. Bella is disturbed by her feelings and quickly pulls away from Beau.
Bella: I’m glad that’s sorted. So I’ll see you for the pledge ceremony on Saturday?
Beau: OK.
Beau watches as Bella walks away.
Beau: *Thinking to self* Damn she’s gorgeous. OK, pull yourself together. Bella is definitely off limits. She’s going to be your sister-in-law and nothing more. Boy is Dustin one lucky guy.

Throughout the year, Beau is a regular visitor at the Greek House. He and Bella grow close but Beau is careful to avoid any physical contact. He hasn’t forgotten the thrill he felt the first time Bella touched his hand. Bella also suppresses any temptation to flirt with Beau. She convinces herself that he is just a good friend as well as being the brother of her fiancée. After one late night party, Beau stays behind to help Bella clear up.
Beau: What a great night. Hic!
Bella: *Slurring* D’you have the hiccups again? I told you not to down so much beer.
Beau: Oh, yeah? As if you didn’t have your fair share of the keg.
Bella staggers and Beau reaches out to catch her. Beau pulls Bella back onto her feet but doesn’t let go. Bella stands stock still for a while. The music is playing in the background and she starts swaying in time to the music.
Without thinking, Beau pulls Bella closer. He also begins moving his body to the music. Bella gently rests her head on Beau’s shoulder, enjoying the feel of his strong arms about her body.
Suddenly a cat screams outside and the two jump apart.
Beau: I… best be going now.
Bella: Yes, of course. Er… thanks for helping clean up.
Beau: Sure, see you in class.
Bella: Yeah, Bye.

The next day, Bella wakes up with a pounding headache. She groans and rolls over to look at her alarm clock.
Bella: Christ! It’s nearly noon. What on earth happened last night?
Her brain is groggy and she can’t quite remember going to bed. Then, abruptly she recalls dancing with Beau. Did she really hold onto him so tight? And did it truly feel as good as she remembers? It must have been the drink that caused the warm glow. But as Bella goes about her daily life she finds her mind continually drifting back to those few moments with Beau.

The next day is Sunday and Bella is working on her term paper. She is startled by a loud knocking on the door. Bella tries to ignore the sound; she isn’t in the mood for company today. However, the visitor is persistent and eventually Bella gives in and goes to answer the door.
Bella: Dustin!
Dustin: Hello, gorgeous. Surprise!
Bella: It certainly is. Why didn’t you call first? I’m in the middle of my term paper and I haven’t even washed my hair today.
Dustin: Well you look beautiful enough to me. I tell you what - I’ll help you finish your paper and then I’ll take you out for a nice romantic meal. So are you going to invite me in?
Bella: Yes, of course. Come on in.
Bella steps aside, wondering why she isn’t more excited to see her fiancée.

Later that evening, Dustin and Bella are returning home from dinner when they spot Beau loitering outside the Greek house.
Beau: Dustin. What are you doing here?
Dustin: Visiting my fiancée. But what are YOU doing here? It’s nearly One O’ Clock in the morning. Do you always visit this late?
Beau: *Defensively* I am a member of this house you know. So, yeah, I visit whenever I feel like it.
Bella looks at the two brothers. There’s tension in the air and she doesn’t like it. Can Dustin sense how close she’s grown to his younger brother? Could Beau be jealous of Dustin? Bella eyes Beau and her heart leaps at the sight of him. He looks so dejected and Bella longs to embrace him. But of course she can’t. She graduates in less than a month and will return to Pleasantview and the new house Dustin has built for her.
Beau mutters something under his breath and leaves before he gives into temptation to punch his brother. Dustin looks confused but shrugs off the episode. He turns to Bella and kisses her firmly.
Dustin: So, shall we go inside? It’s been a while since we’ve shared a bed together…
Bella forces herself to smile and leads Dustin up to her room.
